Who We Are

A studio, not a machine.

Bright Tide is India's first publishing house built entirely around queer romance. We're founder-led, fandom-native, and fully invested in every project we take on. No agents to chase. No years in a submissions pile. Just a real publishing partnership with one person who genuinely loves what you write.

Two Models

Full transparency. No headaches.

The Traditional Model

We invest.
You write.

We believe in your book enough to back it fully. We cover all costs: editorial, design, production, distribution, marketing. We carry the financial risk. You focus entirely on the work. Royalties on every copy sold at industry-standard rates.

  • Full editorial suite (dev edit, line edit, copy edit, proofread)
  • Cover art and interior design
  • Copyright registration and contract handling
  • Print and digital distribution
  • Marketing and fandom campaign
  • In-house literary agent support
  • One dedicated point of contact, start to finish

The Co-Investment Model

Shared risk.
Higher reward.

Both parties contribute to the publishing budget. You put skin in the game, we match it. In return, you earn a significantly higher royalty split and more input on creative decisions. You're co-investing in something we both believe in.

  • Everything in the Traditional Model
  • Shared budget contribution (agreed upfront, fully transparent)
  • Higher royalty split in your favour
  • Greater creative input on key decisions
  • Full transparency on spend, sales, and earnings
  • Same dedicated 1:1 support
  • Co-ownership of the outcome
Not sure which model fits? Email us at agent@brighttidestudios.com and we'll talk it through honestly and tell you what makes sense for your project. No pitch, no pressure.
01

Editorial

We work on the story with you. Every manuscript we take on goes through a full editorial process in direct collaboration with the author. No outsourcing.

Story Development

You have a story in your head. No manuscript yet. That's fine, it's where we start.

We sit with you and map out the world, the characters, the emotional arc. We help shape the story before you write a single word. Think of it as a co-development process: your vision, built out with real editorial support from day one. If you've been sitting on an idea for years because you didn't know where to begin, this is for you.

How to Submit

One email.
No portals.

No agents. No waiting years. Just send it.

If you're writing queer romance (BL, GL, sapphic, MLM) in any setting: contemporary, fantasy, historical, mythology, or something we haven't seen yet, this is where you start. Genre matters less than story. We read everything. We respond within 8–12 weeks.

01

Query Letter

250–350 words. Hook first. Then premise, protagonist, what stands between them and love, and the emotional stakes. Make us feel it before we've read a word of the manuscript.

02

First 5–10 Pages

Pasted in the email body. Not attached. We want your voice immediately, not a file to open.

03

The Basics

Word count, genre, and target audience (Adult / NA / YA). Keep it short.

04

Two Comp Titles

Published in the last 5 years. Tell us what shelf your book belongs on.

05

Author Bio

Short. Publishing credits if any. And, why this story is yours to tell. That part matters more than the credits.

Note

No manuscript yet?

That's genuinely fine. Tell us what the story is, where it's set, and who's in it. We'll take it from there. Story development is part of what we do.
